Mindful, health-conscious eating on Pensacola Beach! Organic Menu, Organic Market, Gluten-free Bakery. Vegan, Paleo, Gluten-free & Dairy-free options.
Wild Roots Restaurant recently opened on Pensacola Beach. The sister restaurant to the popular BeachPops, Wild Roots' focus is mindful eating.
Lynne Foster, the founder of BeachPops and Wild Roots, is a former Los Angeles/Washington DC executive now restaurateur. Moving to Pensacola Beach in 2008, Lynne created BeachPops as a healthy and yummy alternative to other ice cream shops. Her newest venture, Wild Roots, offers healthy, organic and delicious FAST food.
Lynne believes in the power of eating a healthy, fresh, organic diet, from her own personal experience. Like so many of us, her health was degrading with auto immune disorders and other chronic conditions despite living a healthy lifestyle, at least by today's terms. It wasn't until she was diagnosed with aggressive liver disease resulting from prescription blood pressure medication that she took her health into her own hands. She let the words of Hippocrates, the father of medicine guide her.......he stated "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". She changed her attitude towards food and focused on it's nutritional value. The nutrition she was looking for is found only in fresh organic whole foods. No medications, no fad diets, no therapies. Just pure, fresh, simple organic whole foods. It changed her health and changed her life.
Wild Roots was spawned from Lynne's belief that people want and need healthy convenient alternatives to fast food. They keep it fresh, pure and simple by serving up organic salads, sandwiches and wraps accompanied by soups and nosh pots of seaweed salad, couscous, tabouli, hummus, crudites and cultured veggies. Their sandwiches range from smoked salmon to roast beef, to vegetarian, and all are made to your specifications as you watch. Likewise their salads are made to order and served in a bowl or a wrap. They even have a kids menu offering favorites with fun names like Big Bird and Green Turtle. Everything is made daily using the finest quality whole fresh ingredients. All of their dressings and mayos are dairy-free, soy-free and GMO-free, plus they have gluten-free options for breads and sweets.
Lynne's goal is to provide her customers with the same delicious, healthy food and treats that allowed her to stop injuring her body and let her body heal itself. Mindful eating matters!
